Logo Competition

Volcano Radio is currently holding a new logo design competition!

We're accepting entries through email and also delivered to us at the studio on the 4th Floor of Shadbolt House, on Norwich Quay.

Entries are open to everyone so get into it and have a go! All we ask is that the logo have the words 'Volcano Radio 88.5FM' in black, be bold and stand out, and look good small. Think about the community, the volcano, Lyttelton as a whole, and how we all fit to make this the amazing place it is.

Entries must be in by next Friday, the 19th of March, and the prizes are great! The winner will recieve a year's free membership in The Crater Club, and kids, you can get involved too! You'll get to come up to the station and host your own lyttel show, be interviewed on air, play some of your favourite music, and go home with a cd and your own limited edition Volcano Radio radio!

So get those crayons out and get scribbling, you never know, you might be the one who gets to brand Volcano Radio!

The Crater Club

Volcano Radio is all systems go! The dedicated team of community max workers (Emma, Joel, Kenny and Sacha) are hard at work on the Crater Club, so all you fans of local, live and commercial-free radio can support us keeping it that way, and get some sweet deals at the same time! Click here for more info.

Lyttelton Timebank

We are also getting in behind Project Lyttelton's Community Timebank. Every weekday at 10am, 12pm and 2pm we will be broadcasting the latest offers and requests for timebank, and getting warm fuzzy stories from members to inspire you all! If you aren't yet a timebank member, check out their website and get involved. Its a great way to get to know your community, utilize their skills and your own, without ever having to reach into your piggy bank.

Don't forget to tune in every Monday to The Project Lyttelton Show, from 11am, to hear the latest local news and sustainability initiatives.

New Shows

We have a new show starting this week. Sacha will be bringing you the Local and Live Gig Guide, letting you know not only who's playing where, but a bit about the bands gigging in the coming week, and playing some of their music so you know if it's your kind of thing! The show is every Friday morning at 10am.

Also in show news, Jules Marchant has recently started a great new show, Languid Lunch, on Wednesday afternoons from 12.30pm to 2pm. Nice relaxed tunes, with a smooth lean towards jazz.

Tuesday lunchtime has recently welcomed Justin with Live Lunch, from 12pm 1.30pm, also Wednesday evenings from 7pm you can tune into Cafédré's new show, Waxed on Wednesdays, it's all vinyl, all NZ, all good!
